It could be different sore you own, but I can tell you the one I get often. Sometime when I bite on something strong, and feel hurt the pay for of my gum; I have to save rinse my mouth with mouthwash. Then I would achieve a cold sore -like at Connor of my lip. Cold sore lip balm is good for that. Cheap and it's not going to hurt you surrounded by anyway.
If its a cold sore sorry but yes it is Herpes! But it may be a canker sore in which crust try fletchers sore mouth medicine. Available at pharmacy.
I rinse next to salt marine, and apply lip balm with a Q-tip

If it is indeed a cold sore, then it IS a form of herpes! Sorry to relate you. However, it might just be a canker sore. Go to the dr. for correct diagnosis, because they are treated differently.
