i have herpes also, and didn't receive depressed. If you like this guy afterwards just explain to him. Theres no easy mode to do it so I can't help you here. If you have no intrest surrounded by him don't tell him. What's done is done, and he may not go and get it so telling him is newly going to start unneeded conflict.
